Customer Care Officer

That heritage is the foundation on which De Monchy Natural Products operates today, supplying a curated range of spices (vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves) to the fragrance, flavour, and food & beverage industries.

Job Description

You will join a creative, dynamic international team where collaboration and support are part of the daily culture. As our Customer Care Officer, you are the primary point of contact for existing and prospective customers across the EMEA region, managing a meaningful part of their experience and adding real value at every touchpoint.

Your key responsibilities are:

  • Review, process, monitor, and route purchase and sales orders accurately in a fast-paced environment
  • Handle sales order administration, customer complaints, material returns, and credit notes with precision and timeliness
  • Respond to customer enquiries on pricing, availability, certifications, MSDS documentation, and more
  • Develop deep product knowledge to understand each customer’s needs and deliver effective, tailored solutions (an exceptional customer care)
  • Manage deadlines and coordinate workflows to keep operations running smoothly
  • Support the Sales and Marketing teams throughout the commercial process
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to continuously improve processes and tools

Job Profile

You are customer-oriented, hands-on, and genuinely passionate about delivering excellent service. You work accurately, independently, and proactively, and you bring that mindset alongside the following skills and qualifications:

  • College (MBO) or Bachelor (HBO) in business, marketing, economics or related field.
  • Experience in sales, with a solid understanding of the sales process and dynamics.
  • Affinity with food industry, preferably with commodities and/or ingredients.
  • Familiarity with relevant rules, regulations and standards.
  • Understanding of international logistics is an asset: shipment coordination (air, sea, road), incoterms, customs clearance, and related processes
  • International experience, whether professional or academic
  • Fluent in English and Dutch; proficiency in German, French, Spanish or another EU language is welcome addition.
  • Comfortable with standard office tools, including Office suite.

Location

This role will be based at our head office in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
