Global Social Responsibility

We are committed to having a positive impact both socially and environmentally.

global social actions

De Monchy Natural Products is aware of their position in the supply chain and the possible risks related to working with developing countries and regions. We make certain that none of our partners uses child labor in any of the production stages. We avoid doing business with partners who do not follow the local labor legislation, or act in contradiction to ILO guidelines.

De Monchy is actively involved in various care programs, and work ethics are a major component of our supplier assessments. We have long standing business relationships with our partners and monitor and audit all of them to ensure international norms and all laws are being respected. We are fully transparent in the way we work, and traceability is confirmed across products and markets.

Our company provides equal opportunities to all people, regardless of age, gender, religion or ethnicity. We stimulate teams with a diversified composition and firmly believe such teams are the key to better performance.

We respect the delicate balance between people, planet and profit. The De Monchy Natural Products staff is passionate about their business but conducts business with integrity and respect. It is a given fact that our company will comply with all international laws and food safety regulations. We do not allow corruption within our supply-chains. We hold our partners to the same standards.

Our actions at the source

Alongside our sourcing activities, our teams on the ground work with local partners to support the communities in our origin countries. Below are the main projects carried out in Madagascar and Indonesia.

Ambohimanarina Primary School

In 2019, while assessing potential social projects in Madagascar, our local team found that children’s education in the village of Ambohimanarina was held back, notably by the state of the school buildings. The existing building could not accommodate all the children, and it was in very poor condition. This led to our first social project: renovating the existing building and constructing a new one.

Together with the Monchy Trivium Foundation and our partner Sambavanille, we built a new primary school in the village of Ambohimanarina, with four classrooms, a library, a playground and sanitation facilities. Construction began in January 2020, and the school opened for the September 2020 school year. More than 1,000 people attended its official inauguration on 27 October 2020.

The school now welcomes 300 children and the classrooms also serve as a training hub for local farmers. De Monchy Natural Products continues to support the school’s maintenance & improvement: A basketball court was added in January 2026. Additionnally, thanks to our collaboration with Monchy Trivium Foundation, we funded €3,500 of maintenance work on one of the school buildings damaged by severe weather in August 2026.

Food Distribution in Vulnerable Communities

When COVID-19 lockdowns hit Madagascar’s most vulnerable communities in spring 2020, our local teams stepped in alongside several local stakeholders to distribute meals. In Antananarivo, restaurateurs Jean Marc Bouchet and Régis Guillet of Au Complexe mobilized their industrial kitchens and ran daily meal production.

Local associations took charge of distribution: Envol Madagascar, led by Faranah Goulamaly, reached single mothers who were victims of violence, and "Sakafo pour tous", led by Mohamed Macer and Chérif Hachemi, reached street children.

For three weeks, the programme, supported by its volunteers, distributed more than 10,000 meals across nearly 80 sites, with financial contributions from our extended network, both in Madagascar and internationally.

Vaccination & Food Distribution in Indonesia

A few months after opening our facilities near Bogor, West Java, our Indonesian team joined forces with the local government and health authorities to organize a COVID-19 booster vaccination day for the residents of Cigombong, where our warehouse is located.

Booster shots were widely available through the authorities, but access remained more difficult for rural communities. The event took place on 30 April 2022 on our warehouse grounds.

The day coincided with the end of Ramadan, a time of sharing in Indonesia. Our team distributed hundreds of food parcels containing rice, flour and cooking oil to families in the village. It was the first community initiative of our Indonesian team.
