Financial Controller

Job Description

As Financial Controller, you are responsible for the accounting of De Monchy Natural Products’ entities, reporting directly to the Manager Finance & Operations. Working closely with the Group Controller, you play a key role in developing and maintaining financial controls in line with company procedures, and in steering the annual budget forecasting cycle from preparation to completion.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the monthly closing process with consistency.
  • Prepare the annual report, including consolidation.
  • Coordinate and manage the external audit process.
  • Develop and roll out Power BI reporting across the organization.
  • Build and maintain periodic forecasts, including cash flow and working capital.
  • Oversee compliance with local, national, and international reporting requirements and tax obligations.
  • Manage the day-to-day financial administration: A/R (incl. credit management), A/P, stock records, and position reports.
  • Contribute to cross-functional improvement projects, including the evolution of the financial ICT environment.

Job Profile

You are a clear communicator with a sharp eye for detail and a natural drive to improve the processes around you. You thrive in dynamic, positive environments and see every challenge as an opportunity to grow. You bring that mindset alongside the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor (HBO) in business economics and/or accountancy.
    8+ years of experience in finance position.
  • Affinity with food industry, preferably with commodities and/or ingredients.
  • Comfortable working in an international business environment
  • A genuine team player who can also work autonomously when needed
  • Detail-oriented, systematic, and hands-on in your approach to problem-solving.
  • Fluent in English and Dutch.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Accounting software, Power BI, ERP & CRM.

Location

This role will be based at our head office in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
