Organic and Rainforest Alliance™ certified vanilla
During the past few months we have been busy with our green campaign in Madagascar. We have been curing and processing between 300 – 400 metric tons of organic and Rainforest Alliance™ certified green vanilla. Our work on the campaign is nearly complete, and we are in the process of transporting our cured organic and Rainforest Alliance™ certified vanilla to our facilities in Europe and the USA.
The process of collecting and curing vanilla requires careful planning. The employees of DMNP-Sambavanille have taken special care of the entire process completing every step with expertise and precision. We are proud of every person’s contribution to this operation: from the farmers cultivating and harvesting the vanilla under the correct conditions, to the careful packing of the finished product.
Fully traceable and excellent quality
With almost 2.000 members of our farmers’ association providing the green vanilla, we are able to offer fully traceable vanilla pods. These farmers have been trained on-site by our team to become certified for organic and Rainforest Alliance™ products. We are pleased with the quality and outcome of this project, and look forward to receiving the final “fruits” of our collaborative labor in our facilities very soon.
On the logistics side, the transport of goods have been a huge challenge. Lead times have increased threefold in the last couple of months. This is due to multiple factors, including backlogs along the entire supply chain of logistics, high product demand, tight space availability for air and cargo shipments, and reduced equipment and personnel to handle the volume. This global challenge is evident across all transport platforms, and impacts all countries and modes of transport. We are working together with our partners to find the best ways to deal with this ongoing dilemma.
Despite the logistical challenges, we are looking forward to delivering our green campaign vanilla, the result of many months of hard work, to our customers.
