Uganda

Uganda is a country in which agriculture and exportation of raw materials play an important role in the local economy. The country’s large and diverse agricultural product portfolio is due to the unique draining ability of the three lakes surrounding most of the country’s large plateau. Over the years the country’s vanilla exportations have been increasing. Unlike other vanilla growing regions, Uganda’s climate and weather patterns allow the farmer to harvest vanilla twice per year, once in December and once during June-July.

The taste of Ugandan vanilla beans is creamy and slightly sweet. It offers strong scents of rich, buttery vanilla notes, with a bold and earthy taste in addition to hints of raisin and fig. Ugandan vanilla goes well with chocolate-based desserts in food applications, balancing its strong flavors.
